Decided to transition Cailynn from bottle to sippy cup using the cold turkey method. It was quite a hard decision on my part because this method requires a lot of my patience and time. Since Cailynn is able to drink water using the sippy cup (suck on the spout), I was quite confident that she will be able to do the same for milk. So yesterday afternoon, I started giving her milk in the sippy and I was so happy that she did quite well. She took 4oz of milk quite quickly and the remaining of 2oz took around 15 minutes to finish and I basically have to feed her using a spoon or just drink from the cup like an adult. I kept telling myself that no matter how she cries for her bottle (when she sees Charissa taking her milk in bottle), I need to be really strict to myself "DO NOT BRING OUT THE BOTTLE!!!". The good thing is that when she saw her sippy cup just now, she somehow have the same reaction when she sees her bottle.
Why didn't I transition both the girls at the same time? Well, Charissa is still not sucking on the sippy cup spout yet and I'm not sure if she will. Only quite recently that she started holding her own bottle and drinking on her own (Cailynn did that when she was 7 months old). This is actually a big development on her part as she realized that she is capable of doing things on her own. Maybe this will also be a good idea that I concentrate on Cailynn first. Not so stressful for me!
