Cailynn was down with Bronchiolitis and middle ear infection. Poor baby!! She couldn't sleep well because she has difficulty breathing. She has to take antibiotic for her ear infection for 10 days and use a nebulizer to help her clear her lung passage to make breathing easier. Hubby and I were so worried and we took turns to take care of her at night.
Bronchiolitis is a common illness of the respitory tract caused by an infection that affects the tiny airways, called the bronchioles, that lead to the lungs. As these airways become inflamed, they swell and fill with mucus, making breathing difficult. It is caused by a viral infection, most commonly respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV infections are responsible for more than half of all cases of bronchiolitis and are most widespread in the winter and early spring. Other viruses associated with bronchiolitis include rhinovirus, influenza (flu) and human metapneumovirus.
As it is very contagious, it will be a very big challenge for us to prevent Charissa from getting it...
